Memorable moments in our class

"Hi guys!!"

Since we spend lots of time together learning, practicing, singing and laughing, I would like you to share your memorable moments we had together in class - being funny, interesting, exciting or touching ones - but most importantly, those moments that somehow helped you in the learning process of the language or that made you reflect on your attitude regarding your learnship :)

The song of your life

Something I like very much to do to know my students better is to ask them to share the song they think is the most meaningful for them. It has been working quite alright. The song of my life is: "You don't know me" by B.B. King. It makes me remember the early days when I used to go to a pub called Zolt and they played lots of jazz music.

Touching moment

In one of the oral tests which the topic was "a song related to an important moment of your life", one of the students shared with the class a particurlar tough moment of his life when he had alredy lost his father with cancer and his older brother, who had raised him, was diagnosed with a severe cancer too. His brother asked the doctors to release him to go home and called him to talk and said:
" If I could leave you a song to always remember about me, this song would be TIME OF YOUR LIFE by Greenday, because I want you to keep in mind that life is not perfect but should be lived. Enjoy your life!!"

That was the song my student brought and when I looked around everyone was crying, I could not keep myself from joining them.

Funny moments

I will start!! People sometimes mispronounce words and give a strange meaning to the sentence. Last vacation course one of my students wanted to tell the class about a trip he took and started by saying: "When I was sexy..." everyone bursted in laughter, he swore he had said "when I was six!!" It does not matter, nobody believed him anyway!!
